Why did they get rid of ken dolls?

As far as I can tell, Mattel is still producing Ken Dolls, just not in as great a quantity as the Barbie Dolls. I believe it might be because the Ken dolls don't sell quite as well as Barbie does (being a minority in a line of Dolls kind of does that) because apparently Girls want to fantasize more about dressing up the perfect woman than they do her male counterpart.
