Throat pain, I need help?

Sorry this is long...okay, here's what happened...my throat's been sore for a few weeks now, partially cuz i've had a cough. I take singing lessons and chorus stuff like that and I was so tempted to sing I did like five times duringmy sore throat, now it's red and not that painful but it is a bit irritating. I tried drinking hot tea, it helps but just now I drank some hot tea, it was really hot but it didn't really cause me pain. I ate some of the warm honey afterwards, now my throat hurts, I think it's cuz of the honey cuz honey's always made my throat tingle (not that I'm allergic it still helps me) but I'm scared that I've damage my voice. Sorry I'm so paranoid, I just want to be a singer and I'm really careful about taking care of my voice... please help will I be OK?

How to get rid of cough, mucus, and runny nose?

it has been 3 days and hasn't changed a bit. i have been drinking many liquids and taking some cough medicine. my nose isn't that serious and gets clear easily, but my coughs are really loud, persistant and hurts. can someone help me with some home remedies? So some total stranger passerby stopped tonight as I was walking to my car and said he wanted to make sure I was okay because I looked "pissed off" when I was trying to avoid not looking pissed off. (I have really bad facial tics when I am insecure.) I am crazy, but I'm tired of people giving me funky looks and them treating like I'm homicidal or have Asperger's or something. I never want to hurt someone, and when I feel like I have hurt someone, I almost always have this guilty conscience that eats me up. It's like I can't go anywhere in public without feeling like everyone is looking at me and judging me. The stranger asked, and I told him what had happened, and he started walking away and he just said "You got it. I have faith in you." I don't have it. I loved my job up until now. I have been taking care of this lady who has had 6 seizures since February while I was taking care of her. The first 3 before today were no big deal. The ones today were scary. She usually screams "HELP ME" before she has one, and I rush to help her. The first one today she was eating and had food in her mouth, and I thought she would choke. The second one was scarier. Her seizure lasted 4 minutes and she was confused for way too long (8 min) and her family and I didn't know if she was coming back or not. Then when I was filling out the report about 15 minutes after the bad one where she started seizing before she said "help," I thought we were going to lose her and she didn't come out of the confusion for 15 minutes. All these were all in a less than 2 hour timeframe. After her last one, she just coughed or something, and I got startled and thought she'd have another one. Then her family and I talked outside, and I thought I heard her scream, I panicked and told him I thought she was having another. On my way home, I got 2 minor startle responses when driving. Thought I was going to hit a pedestrian and then I thought someone was going to run into me when most people wouldn't think that. I have a therapist, but I'm afraid of everything. I don't know if I can work anymore. I'm so afraid she might die. And I start to feel angry 6 hours into my shift at the one where I sit there and do nothing important and I feel like I will blow up/lose control. As far as I know, everyone wants me to stay at my caretaker job. Boss is impressed/surprised. Family does not want me to leave. The lady I take care of seems to really care about me, and she gets sad when I tell her I can't be there forever. I don't feel like going anywhere. I don't even like going out to eat anymore because people always look at me weird. Everything stresses me out. I have really bad anxiety, but now I'm afraid I might have PTSD, and I don't know what I can do if anything. I was going to nursing school, but I'm so terrified I might accidentally not do my job right and someone will die because of it and I'll have all the incidents replaying in my mind where I could have saved someone. And I have to deal with me ex bf trying to convince me I'm the greatest person in the world and that he really does care while calling me an asshole who overanalyzes and freaks out way too much. 8 calls between 3am and 10am while my phone was on silent and then him saying I was breaking my promises and leaving him. "Fine" trying to convince himself. He tells me to "GO AWAY! Forever!" and then 15 minutes later texts back with "Hello, C******??" If you're curious, see my last Yahoo question. I don't know who to share things with. People are running away from me it seems, especially after tonight. I feel like my stomach is up between my sternum and my heart has a hole in it. I have these terrible sexual thoughts, and my ex has been trying to claim the right to my entire body just because we ****** (he's territorial like this with all his exes he's had feelings for. Even pissed one of his ex's carpet when he came over and found another man in her presence.) I have to have some kind of sexual release to feel normal. I don't feel like I can orgasm anymore. I want to sleep with someone but am so afraid that I'll get treated like **** by my ex and whoever I decide to sleep with, and they might be the best friend I have, and I don't want to **** things up. I feel totally ****** up out of my mind and all I want to do is curl into a ball and never wake up.

3 month old spitting up... DR won't do anything about it!?

I posted a question a few days ago about my 3 month old son spitting up ALL the time. I called his DR to see if we could just try some acid reflux medicine and she said no, and to just keep trying different formulas. I don't want to keep trying formulas, because I know it can mess with his delicate stomach. He spits up every feeding and between feedings. I tried to lower how many ounces he's eating,burping him more, sitting him up for 45 minutes after feedings, added rice to his bottles (recommended by his Dr) and he still spits it all up. He's had this problem since he was born. I know some babies just spit up but I DO NOT think this is just a case of him being a "spitter" he spits up ALOT of the milk, his mouth looks like a faucet, it just keeps coming and never stops. The spit up is chunky and he is sometimes in pain. AND he has constant hiccups and a cough. Which seems to make it worse. All of this points to a mild case of Acid Reflux. There has to be something out there to help my baby boy. Or is the DR right? He will outgrow it? It just doesn't seem normal for him to spitting up this much all the time.

I dyed my hair and the color is fading!!?

So, I dyed my hair and it's already washing out. I used red-ken for color treated hair, L'Oreal for color treated hair, and it still washes out. It's suppose to be permanent hair dye. My hair is black/brown naturally so I had to get my hair bleached because I had wanted blue highlights which I loved but again, color didn't last no longer than three weeks. I don't know what to do. People told me to use salon hair products but it makes no difference. The only difference is the price. I don't remember the name of the hair dye.

Rabies at the lake or city?

Right side chest pain?

I'm on vacation, and I've been doing a lot of walking and wearing a backpack daily and whatnot, but I just noticed some bad chest pain on the right side of my chest, it hurts to press and when im not touching it, it just aches. Ok so it al started last week with what felt like a lump in my throat. Didn't bother me. Then a couple days later I got a terrible cough. It was a hard one, and hurt. At first the cough came every 1-2 hours. It kept progressing. Now it comes every 3-5 minutes. I can't breathe deeply because it hurts my right lung, causing me to get into a hectic, horrid coughing fit. Some coughs come out dry with phlegm trying to come up, and I spit it out. What are the best power settings for me and my laptop?

I have a Acer Aspire 5551-4200 laptop. Right now I keep the battery in the fridge and run on the power cord full time. I don't give a hoot about saving energy. My only concern is what's best to preserve and prolong the life of my laptop and prevent damage to it from overheating. My previous laptop, a Dell, died from repeated and prolonged overheating, and I want to preserve this laptop as long as might be possible. I could configure the Power Options so it never turns the display off, never sleeps, and doesn't do anything when I close the lid, but that would eventually lead to overheating like it did on my Dell. On the Dell I had no choice because I didn't have a battery. The battery conked out after only about twelve or thirteen months. I keep this battery, a lithium ion, in cold storage at about a 40% charge when I'm not using it, because I want it to last. So I pretty much keep the Power Options on the factory defaults. The problem is that the darn thing cuts off or goes to sleep or whatever the heck it does while I'm trying to run a McAfee full virus scan, or charge my digital media player, or some such task that lasts more than a half hour or so. I'll set it to do one of the above or something similar and come back later and it'll be dark, and when I wake it back up the scan will have paused in progress, or the digital media player will have stopped charging, yadda-yadda-yadda. So does anyone ken my problem? Can anyone suggest the best Power Option settings so I can keep the darn thing awake long enough to finish what I thought I asked it to do and still have minimal long term detrimental effect on "my poor, poor bairns" motherboard.

My asthma out of control :(?

My asthma was acting up really badly earlier this year. They had to see me to an allergist eventually. I stayed on coughing medicine for about 4 months. They also said it might have something to do with acid reflux even though I'd never shown any other signs of it, but since they put me on the medicine, I've been fine.

Yes. If you have a stiff neck, that's a serious problem. I was thinking it could be allergies at first, because those are some of the same symptoms I have when the pollen is bad but if you have a stiff neck and pain down your spine in addition to the rest you really should go see the doctor, a clinic, or even the hospital.

I keep coughing and it wont go away!?

I have been coughing for about a month now (mostly at night) and it truly wont go away and is beginning to really bug me!! You said you just started yesterday- was that dinner "normal" for you before you decided to eat healthier? As in, does that sound like a normal day to you? If so, you probably wouldn't put on much weight. If that's a ton even for how you used to eat, you could be up a pound or two or three, which sucks, but it's a learning experience! If you're used to eating a large amount, going straight to a low calorie diet might be really hard for you- physiologically. You might want to eat more often and just more in general to avoid those huge binges. Don't keep those really fatty foods around you; ask the people who live with to help you avoid temptation, or if you're alone or the one who controls what is purchased, then rid your house of at least half of the junk you have. Keeping some treat is okay- treating yourself is good on occasion! But, don't buy family size pizzas if you're the only one, and don't buy three family size pizzas if it's just you and two roommates or you, your spouse, and a couple kids- one family pizza is enough to suffice.

Getting sick after taking ecstasy?!?

I went to a three day rave and took a considerable amount of ecstasy each night. I probably slept a total of 8 hours over the last 3 nights. Also, I haven't really been eating all that much, however I have been drinking water when I was rolling. I didn't go to sleep last night, but in the morning I started getting a scratchy throat and a runny nose. Binge eating what should I do?

Ok so tonight I binge ate on way to much food. I am also on a diet so that's no good. I ate peanut butter(thank goodness I can't stand the thought of it anymore) girl scout ice-cream, chocolate eclair Kringle, brownie, lemon poppy seed mini muffin, fruit gushers, tlc toasted vegetable crackers, pretzels, pringles, and some cottage cheese. Long story short I'm a cleaner for major banks. Got into the 3 story elevator. Pushed button, got zapped so bad I fell down and hurt my hand badly. Elevator goes down to bottom floor, short circuits with white smoke coming out of buttons. Trapped for 45 minutes inhaling that smoke, firefighters pried door open and I got out. Swollen lympnotes, flu symptoms, hard to swallow?

3 days ago I woke up with a swollen throat, on the right side only. Both of my lymphnotrs are swollen in my neck, by my throat and are very tender to the touch. 8 hours after I woke up with these symptoms, I developed flu like symptoms such as fever, chills, headache, and dizziness (common flu sumptoms) but I didn't experience a site throat, running nose, or cough. I feel much better now, I'm still experiencing the same symptoms with my throat, but it's gotten better than before. My flu is going away as well, I have an appetite. Sound surpressor for a firearm?

My cousin keeps dolls with blood, hair, etc, in them is this a religious thing?

I have a 13 year old cousin and he told me about this weird thing he does. He gets dolls like Barbie, Ken, GI Joe, etc, usually from thrift shops and yards sales but sometimes new ones. He alters their appearance to look like his school friends like he changes hair and outfits and stuff. Then he gets bodily "stuff" from these people like collects their hair, skin flakes and some he gets to give him blood I don't know how. He got saliva from some people by stealing their soda cans from the trash. He has one barbie that he says looks like his female friend and she cuts herself so she gave him a whole vial of blood. Then he took her blood and put some inside the barbie (he took it apart and hollowed it a little). He does that with all the blood, hair, etc he gets - hollows the doll and puts it inside.

I got some food stuck in my tonsil's (called tonsil stones) and I think some skin or something grew over one of the pieces stuck. Is this good, what I mean is, is it healing? Strep throat with a runny nose ? ?

Ok so this all started when I got a REALLY bad sore throat I couldn't even swallow my own saliva . I lost my voice for about three days and my throat wold tingle and burn ...I had strep before and it felt the same way and I started taking antibiotics the first day I had diareah and also the second day and third day . I don't think it was from the antibiotics ,because from my experience you get diareah from antibiotics in the middle of your treatment . Well anyway within the first day of taking the antibiotics my throat was much better ....within the second day I started getting a runny nose I have been on antibiotics for four days now and last night I had tO breath from my throat because my nose has been stuffy . My question is ....is this normal for strep throat ? Can you get what it feels like a cold ? My nose has no mocus its just watery .my eyes get really watery and my throat ever since I have been taking the antibiotics is coughing up mocus ....and this cough can take a while till the mocus comes out no more than 15 to. 30 minutes .....lol sorry if this is too graphic . I'm pretty sure its strep because my throat had the red bumps and a little bit of white dots ....strep right like duh . But now I'm so confused . Okay. First of all, I am 11 weeks 1 day pregnant. Four days ago, I had a horrible headache. I layed in bed all day with cold compresses and took children's tylenol. The headache eased up, but now I have pain in my upper neck/ back of my head. I also have a sore throat (shouldnt be strep bc I have not had that since my tonsils were taken out 7 years ago at age 18). My throat is itchy and makes me cough quite a bit. When I wake up I feel like I have a lot of drainage between my nose and throat (almost like a post nasal drip that is clogged up). I do not have a fever and my temperature has ranged between 98.4-99.5 for the last four days. My main concern is my general ill feeling and pain in my neck/ back of head. It feels stiff when I try to turn it side to side and backwards, but not when I touch my chin to my chest. Has anyone experienced these symptoms before and do you thnk this is a trip to the ER or an after hours clinic?

Been coughing up white stuff a week now.?

At first I just had a cough then within a couple days I was having nonstop coughing fits. About 2 days into the cough I started coughing up white mucus like stuff. I have had a forceful cough for three weeks now. I woke up this morning with a very sharp pain in my chest just below my right breast. It is very tender and painful to touch and really hurts when I cough, laugh, take a deep breath or move to quickly. There is also very faint bruising which has appeared throughout the day as I didn't notice it this morning. I know its from the coughing as I have not done anything to cause this injury. Have I broken my rib and what to I do about it?

3 days ago I woke up with a swollen throat, on the right side only. Both of my lymphnotrs are swollen in my neck, by my throat and are very tender to the touch. 8 hours after I woke up with these symptoms, I developed flu like symptoms such as fever, chills, headache, and dizziness (common flu sumptoms) but I didn't experience a site throat, running nose, or cough. I feel much better now, I'm still experiencing the same symptoms with my throat, but it's gotten better than before. My flu is going away as well, I have an appetite. Abdominal Pain Need Some Ideas On What It Could Be?

I have a dull pain in my lower left abdomen every now and again its a bit of a sharp quick pain. It feels like there is a lump in there or a small ball of some sort. Im not contstipated I have had two bowel movements today but I usually dont have bowel movement for 3-5 days at a time. I dont feel sick, I do have a headache and my chest hurts a little. When I cough I can really feel the pain in my lower left abdomen and when I get wind. I have only had it for 24-48 hours. I am overcautious when it comes to pain anywhere in my lower abdomen and I guess because its a dull pain, it feels like there is a lump or ball in there where the pain is and it kind of feels like its going to explode when i get wind or cough im just trying to get some opinions quickly as im worried about appendicitus although ive heard if you have that the pain is on the right side. I couldnt be pregnant ive just had my period. Any ideas on what it could be? and should I make a doctors appointment for tomorrow or go to the hospital?

my boyfriend, me and students are in my science class and my teacher was there too. One student got in an argument with her and i guess he threw a cylindrical jar at the teacher and she got cut (looked like a Pringles can, only glass). 1 month old and a Cold...what can I do for her?

I have a one month old and she has a terrible cold. She can barely breath out of her nose and her chest seems congested too, plus a cough. Sounds like you have a stubborn virus, something similar to the flu probably. You can't really do much for a virus, its gotta work it's way out. Make sure you drink alot of fluids and stay hydrated. Take ibuprofen for the sore throat. Hot tea will also help your throat. If you start to get a high fever that lasts more than a day see your doctor, hope this helps!

Hi! The number of calories i eat after school is insane. I am never hungry at all during the morning. I eat as much after school as one does for a whole meal! I have a 13 year old cousin and he told me about this weird thing he does. He gets dolls like Barbie, Ken, GI Joe, etc, usually from thrift shops and yards sales but sometimes new ones. He alters their appearance to look like his school friends like he changes hair and outfits and stuff. I have 3 Labs. I don't know exactly how to describe what is wrong, but I will try. They have a terrible crouping gagging gasping dry sounding cough. At times they sound like a pig oinking or a goose honking. It's as if something is caught in their throats. They also seem to have trouble breathing in & out of their noses off & on, making strange gasping noises through them as well. I am so worried. I've taken them to a couple different vets, but they don't cough while there, of course. They check out fine otherwise. I was told it's kennel cough. I've tried steroids, anti-inflamatory drugs, & antibiotics now. Vet also had me buy OTC cough medicine for them. Nothing is helping. It has been 11 days now. It started with a light cough two days ago then last night i felt really bad i was really cold I had an excruciating headache and felt dizzy and just kept on flinching uncontrollably and when i was sleeping i woke up at 3:17 and felt really hot. When I woke up this morning I had the same symptoms only with a blocked nose and kept on coughing up phlegm. Right now i feel fine only with a mild headache and my throat is a little sore. My symptoms just keep rapidly changing like last night i was ok then half an hour hour later i felt like crap. And two hours ago when i woke up i wanted to kill myself now im fine. It may just be a generic cold but im not totally sure if it is.

I keep coughing when i smoke!?

when i first started smoking marijuana, like anyone else i would cough when i took big hits. its been a year or so and now all of a sudden i start coughing when i take big rips and my tbroat hurts (sometimes i cant even talk!) but anyways, i got use to taking such big hits and now whenever i do i start dying! What is up with this cough?

Last week on Sunday night I was recovering from a small cold I had had for only a couple days. That night I developed a semi-dry cough that continued for 4 or 5 days. On the 4th day it became a completely dry cough that was giving me headaches. Thankfully the cough recessed a little and was as severe. This happened on Friday. It is now Tuesday night and I still have the cough but it is getting better at least I think. I want to know what it is I had or still have. I am a 15 year old male and I do not smoke. Also, in the morning when I get out of bed my cough is not dry but gradually dries out as the day proceeds. I don't take any medication and haven't taken anything for the cough. I have only been drinking lots of tea and getting sleep. Please let me know what you think.

Hi. Well, I am a student also. My art class is officially over. But, this project came up for me also. Well, why don't you make a person? You cn connect the Izze bottle an the Pringle's container by turing the Izze bottle upside down so the part you drink out of is inside of the Pringle's container. You can secure this with some masking take or hot glue. You can then attach googly eyes that you get from the arts and crafts store as eyes. For the nose, you can get a cotton ball and glue that ton as well. Next, you get some Popsicle sticks which can be used as arms to the person. For the mouth,shape a rubber band into a smile and glue it on. After that you need hair!! You may want to get lanyard and pick a color. cut it up into whatever length you want the hair to be. Sugar rush + no sleep = convulsions?

i recently when on a trip with friends, the day of the trip i had an orange cream soda, 20 oz soda, about half a can of pringles, about 8 lifesaver gummies, a large hamburger, fries, a cookie, a large soda, another 20 oz soda, and an icee. then i sleept for about 2 hours, ate a breakfast sandwitch, about 3/4 of a 20 oz soda, then i got home, had another breakfast sandwithch for lunch, a gatorade, some lemonade (which i am sure had sugar), finished the pringles i started early in the trip, got through about 3/4 of the lifesaver gummies, and had a chocolate bar. When my parents got home i got nervous because i had to clean my room and wash the dishes in like 2 minutes before they walked in. in this process i started to have convulsions, however i did not have a headache or anything, just random "spaz" attacks. i got helped up to my room, eventually went to sleep, after sleeping for about 4-5 hours i felt fine and did not get anymore convulsions, but i was advised to stay in bed, so i sleep pretty much the whole day, the next day i felt perfectly fine, no convulsions whatsoever. the question is, did i get these convulsions from the combination of the sugar rush and no sleep and being nervous? do you think this could leave some sort of permanent damage? this happened yesterday, (convulsions). the trip was on friday, and i am writing this on sunday.

I need advice cause i cant afford medical help.?

Ive been having severe lower back pain for a while now.I don't know the cause of it but its getting worse. Everytime I cough I almost collapse to the floor, sneezing and laughing to hard do the same. I've just very recently had to quit smoking, and i'm slightly overweight but i don't get out much or do much strenuous activity, i cant afford a chiropractor and when i crack my back, it still doesnt go away. i don't know if this is a pelvic infection or chronic back pain, but i would like to know what it is or the causes of it, cause its affecting my everyday life. and to mention, i'm only a 20 year old female.

What would be the best way to volunteer in Japan?

I am a Japanese-American that can speak fluent Japanese. I am currently in Saitama-Ken helping out family friends with their own business. I also have plans to head south to Kochi-Ken to meet some family. Is there anyway I can volunteer if my work schedule ends July 15, even for a couple days then hop on a bullet train back to Kochi? Once I get to Kochi I plan on spending a few days before I hop on a flight back to Haneda airport, and depart Japan on July 24 back to America.

Help with science project?

So we are approaching the end of our first science unit, optics. The task of the project is to introduce daylight into a dark attic which will be renovated into a home office. Challenges- no windows in the room, light source must come through the roof in any form of tunnel ( pringles can ), and it must only be slightly invasive to the house structure. So obviously I am not illuminating an ACTUAL attic but rather a box that our teacher provided. The scale must be quite small and we were recommended to use objects such as small tubes, lenses, mirrors, and or tin foil. The only problem seems to be that I have to illuminate the box as the light source will move over it from a morning to night scale ( the sun). it ALSO has to be water proof. can anybody help me come up with a design ?

Question about Weight Loss!?

I'm not too sure about the 100lbs thing. It really depends on your body fat percentage. For instance, if you are 40% made up of body fat, then losing 100 pounds would mean losing ALL your body fat which is way unhealthy. A healthy % is like 6-10%. But what you meed to do is continue to work out like you are (I would ttly recommend lifting weights too more muscle needs more calories to burn). Its good you are cutting all that food out of your diet. 3 square meals a day, lots of fruits & veggies are very good. Stay away from chips and candy and junk food. Drink lots of water and the pounds will melt away. Also I found that chewing sugar free gum keeps my mind off food so I always cheese some. Good luck!

What is a good illness excuse to get out of work that can last for a day?

I need to take off work today but i have to go back in wed. I am just worn out cuz they have me working so many hours and i have had this cough for a week now and its not getting any better but i feel like a regular cough is not a good excuse. so i need a good excuse. Keep your hands clean. Don't touch your mouth,face, and especially eyes. She probably has pink eye, or allergies. Most likely its allergies. Pollen can swell up the eye and stuff up the head. She will be fine just keep her filled with fluids to you see the doctor.

I have a cough after being in the hospital?

I was in and out of the hospital a week ago for 3 days. I never spent the night though. I went in with stomach pain, a fever and a high white blood cell count. They ran tests and did an ultrasound and they sent me home saying i was fine after I started feeling better. Now, a week later; I have a very bad cough and sneezing. It's probably just a cold but could the two be connected?

I dont see you have enough protein (milk and cheese are fat) in your meals, that is a really bad diet. You had too much carb in your intake, that's why you keep eating. So try to get 2 hard boil egg and veggie at lunch break. 2 eggs about 140 cal but keep you full and providing protein. And get some more meat at your dinner as well. Cheerios is not a good choice for losing weight, because contains too much sugar. why not switch to all bran or fiber one original.
