What's up with the food from the dollar store?

I was there with some of my friends and whilst i was there i saw things like lays potato chips and pringles except they were like a dollar! anywhere else these things would be like 3 bucks. they are the exact same size, they're not expired, and they're brand name so what the heck. Why is the food so cheap?
