Pringles is salty but no onion. Safe to give cat a little as a treat? He seems to like them a lot.?

I was surprised that my tom wanted to eat Pringles potato crisps. I broke off a little piece for him and he scarfed it down and licked his chops. Just to indulge him I gave him a few more little pieces as a treat, but then stopped because other than the saltiness, I don't know if Pringles Original is harmful to cats.
